AWIL/CC 90 - Katerina Mina

By the time you read this, Katerina Mina will be jetting off to Mexico for a series of concerts with the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra. Her hectic tour schedule has taken her across the skies & seas for over a decade into some deep musical conversations with world-class ensembles, conductors, soloists and accompanists. Concert halls & grand stages aside, even hearing her sing live in the AWIL studio at was simply a celestial experience. Divine in both voice and spirit Katerina is a passionate and dedicated award-winning artist, responsible & conscientious about the music she interprets and the composers she represents, She defies convention as a London-born Greek Cypriot graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and as a gifted, gutsy, soprano in the competitive opera world. All of this is balanced by a zany sense of humour, the occasional pop collaboration with guys like Rick Wakeman, and charity support for organisations like the Leukaemia Society - no surprise to learn that she was awarded the Russian Federation's Medal for Peace and Friendship. So, what really goes on behind the scenes in and out of arias & fugues, Chopin & Mendelssohn? Did our champagne flute remain intact after those high ‘C’s? And most importantly, what drives the supreme soulful & sensational voice of Katerina Mina?? Find out on this A World In London! Click:  More info:
